A Peak Behind The Curtain

Curious about me and why I do this? I am happy to share a little about myself, my motivations, and where I am headed next…

About Me

Growing up, I was a huge nerd that loved video games, books, and the outdoors. I also happened to be halfway decent at sports. I got recruited to row in college and split my time between the boathouse, the internet, and, when I had some extra time, academics. I was fortunate to be part of a great team and during my collegiate career, we won four National Championship Titles. I also rowed the lightweight double for the US National Team in a couple world events.

After college, I coached rowing and, outside of practice time, tutored high school students and advised them on their college applications. I found that I had a love for teaching and enjoyed passing on the knowledge that had served me well in both my athletic and academic pursuits.

Eventually, I decided to find a more financial sustainable career and moved into the business world as an inhouse tech startup recruiter. I picked Talent Acquisition because I strongly believe it is essential to find and attract the best people when trying to build a successful startup. Bad recruiting is painful for both business and candidate, but good recruiting is exciting and fun for everyone involved. I love talking to people about their work and finding amazing candidates. Best of all, after they sign, I get to work with those amazing people every day!

My career goal is to develop my recruiting skills and knowledge to a point where I can build and run recruiting functions at early stage startups with disruptive products.

I also aspire to start my own startup that would be a resource for high school, college, and recent grads to help them find their career path and give them the knowledge to pursue it effectively. I have named this The Prometheus Project and will share more information as it gets further along.

I love to discuss ideas, talk about self improvement, strategy, art, and philosophy. I built this website to share what I know. I hope you enjoy it.
